Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin will have a new, temporary entrance on the east side of the building as of Monday, Sept. 12.
MCHS-Austin will be undergoing an 85,600 square foot expansion to the north side of the medical center, and the east-side entrance will be used during construction.
Rod Nordeng, vice president and building project director, said the temporary main entrance will have all the features of the previous main entrance.
“The temporary entrance is handicap accessible and will be equipped with Volunteers and Staff to assist patients and visitors with directions and way-finding,” Nordeng said. “We apologize for any inconvenience the temporary entrance may cause. However, we are extremely excited to be able to provide our patients and visitors with more convenient and improved space once the project is completed in approximately in Spring 2013.”
Signage will be available to help people find their way around the building from the new entrance. The east-side entrance will serve as the main entrance until construction is completed on the expansion to the north of the building.
