Overby’s time of 15:12.94 is comparable to what she ran at the section meet at the end of the last season.

“She hung with Chrissy for about three-thousand meters and this is a very good start for her,” Austin head coach Tony Einertson said. “It was a good start for the girls and Haley and McKenzie will continue to run stronger.”

Nate Schwab took ninth for the Austin boys.

“Nate trained a lot last week and he was a little tired, so he was a little disappointed,” Einertson said. “It was a good race for him.”
