A 22-year-old Austin man accused of forcefully molesting a 50-year-old woman in her home pleaded not guilty to two criminal sexual charges Thursday.

Ainstain Jim pleaded not guilty to third-degree criminal sexual conduct and fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct in Mower County District Court. He is scheduled for a jury trial on Dec. 5 with Judge Donald Rysavy presiding.

The alleged incident happened around midnight the morning of Aug. 10. Austin police were dispatched to the 200 block of Second Avenue NW on a report of a woman who had been sexually assaulted.

The woman told police she only knew Jim as “AJ,” and they had met at Mickey’s Bar a few months ago. She told officers Jim came to her door and asked to be let into the house, but she did not want him there so she refused to let him in, according to a court complaint.

Jim allegedly forced his way into her house, grabbed her and told her they were going to have sex. According to the court complaint, the woman repeatedly told him “no,” but he picked her up and carried her into the bedroom anyway.

The woman told police Jim tried to take off her pants as she kept trying to get him to stop. He then held her against him while putting his hand in her pants and also touching himself sexually, according to court documents. The woman said she eventually escaped his grasp and ran outside, where two of Jim’s friends were reportedly waiting for him in a car.

When police questioned the witnesses, they said Jim had a couple of alcoholic drinks earlier in the night but seemed “normal.” Jim allegedly told his two friends he needed a ride to go see his girlfriend, so they took him to the woman’s house and waited outside.

When officers spoke to Jim, he insisted, “All I did was make out with her.” However, he later admitted that he touched her breasts and put his hand in her pants. He initially denied touching himself in the woman’s home, too, but police informed him they found semen at the scene. He then admitted to ejaculating in the woman’s house.

According to a court complaint, Jim said several times he thought the woman “led me on.”

Jim’s next court appearance is scheduled for Nov. 18, when he will appear for a pre-trial hearing.
