Stabbed Austin resident in surgery at St. Marys

An Austin man is in St. Marys Hospital after being stabbed on the outskirts of town Thursday night.
Dean Allan Thordor, 37, was stabbed near the 43rd Street NW bridge by Harrington’s Landfill at about 10 p.m. Two suspects fled the scene on foot, according to Mower County Sheriff Terese Amazi.
A witness drove Thordor to the Target parking lot before calling police. Thordor was air lifted to St. Marys after ambulance workers found numerous stab wounds on his body, including several stomach wounds. Amazi did not know Thordor’s condition, but said he underwent surgery Friday morning.
Both suspects were apprehend Thursday night. One suspect was found in Austin, the other in Olmsted County after a foot chase.
Both suspects are at the Mower County Jail pending formal charges. The names of the suspects were not released.
