Local Historical sites Open for business

Not every public organization is suffering during a state shutdown.

Because of some of the reports coming out about historical sites in Minnesota being shutdown, the Hormel Historic Home and Mower County Historical Society (MCHS) want the public to know they are open. The government shutdown is not affecting the operations of either organization, as they are not state funded. Both entities have the opportunity to apply for competitive grants through various state agencies to complete projects, but they do not rely on state funding to operate.

The affected historical sites are owned and operated by the Minnesota Historical Society in St. Paul.
