Those who are heading out for Thursday’s noon hour could consider packing a lunch, as the Mower County Historical Society will hold its second Lunchbox History Series.
This time, MCHS will bring in a Gettysburg guru who knows everything there is about Gettysburg, according to MCHS Executive Director Dustin Heckman. Barry Adams, retired licensed battlefield guide at Gettysburg, will present the more local side of the battle, “Minnesota at Gettysburg.”
Though many Minnesotans know the story about the First Minnesota Regiment holding the lines and saving the battle of Gettysburg, Adams will dig deeper into Minnesota’s involvement in the battle.
“I just think this is one that’s going to grab a lot of poeple,” Heckman said. “It’s definitely a don’t miss opportunity. People are going to learn a lot more than they expected.”
The program runs from noon to 1 p.m. at the east end of the Mower County Fairgrounds.
