The same day she pleaded guilty to terroristic threats and assaulting a police officer, an Austin woman was sentenced to six months in jail for violating her probation on a drug crime.

Elsa Linda Cabana, 28, entered her guilty plea on the two charges Wednesday in Mower County District Court. One charge of second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon was dismissed.

Cabana was given jail time for violating her probation on a previous fifth-degree drug possession conviction.

The most recent incident happened in early June, when police received a report of a woman, later identified as Cabana, threatening another woman with a knife.

Officers located Cabana and the other woman near Jim’s Supervalu. Cabana had the knife in her hand when police arrived, according to a court complaint.

The woman told officers Cabana had been following her and threatening her all day, and she was afraid Cabana would hurt her.

Cabana initially resisted arrest and swore at the officer, according to a court complaint.

She is scheduled to be sentenced on the charges of terroristic threats and assaulting a police officer Sept. 2.
