Boys injured in two-car crash

Two boys were taken to Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin after a two-car crash Thursday night.
Police were called to an crash at the 1300 block of 18th Avenue NW around 5:20 p.m. Thursday. According to Police Chief Brian Krueger, a 53-year-old woman driving a Dodge Dakota going eastbound and turning right on a green light into the Oak Park Mall parking lot struck a 16-year-old driving a Plymouth Voyager. The Voyager was westbound and turning left into the Oak Park Mall parking lot, according to police reports.
The 16-year-old was cited for failure to yield.
The 53-year-old was cited for not having child restraints in her truck. Krueger said two boys, ages 5 and 6, were in the truck with the 53-year-old were examined by Gold Cross Ambulance. The boys were privately taken to the hospital for possible facial injuries.
