The Austin VFW post 1216 will present its fifth installment of “Very Funny Wednesday,” at 7 p.m. June 15.

Each month, the event has been growing, according to veteran Brad McBeain.

“We are excited to be able to bring talented comedians to Austin and share the fun and entertainment with the entire area,” he said. “This event is once again open to the public, so we hope everyone will come out and have some laughs with us.”

The show now features national traveling comics. This Wednesday’s headliner comedian is Shannon Thompson (shannonthompson.org), with feature comedian Laura Thorne (rooftopcomedy.com/comics/ LauraThorne) and MC Simon Zais.

Tickets are available for $5 at the VFW, and the show is open to the public. Wednesday night also includes burger basket specials with fries or onion rings.
