An Austin man accused of pushing a woman down part of a staircase was charged Thursday in Mower County District Court.
Thalamus Howard Wilson, 32, faces one count of felony domestic assault. He has not entered a plea yet.
The alleged assault happened around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday morning when Wilson and the woman got into a verbal argument that led to the woman asking Wilson to leave and putting some of his belongings outside.
The woman told law enforcement this is not the first time Wilson has assaulted her, although she did not call the police for the other alleged incidents.
She said Wilson pushed her, causing her to fall down two steps at the bottom of the staircase, a court complaint states. When officers questioned Wilson, he said he “did not touch her” and only “pushed her.”
According to court documents, Wilson has two previous domestic assault convictions and one third-degree assault conviction in Mower County.
