A Wisconsin construction company had $3,500 of equipment stolen from its semitrailers in rural Austin.
Chief Sheriff’s Deputy Mark May said the burglary was reported Monday morning but likely happened over the weekend.
Scott Construction of Lake Delton, Wis., had semitrailers parked near 150th Street and Highway 105 in Austin Township over the weekend, and on Monday workers noticed 20 chains, three fire extinguishers, load binders, an LP tank and a torch missing. The approximate value of the items is $3,500, May said.
The Mower County Sheriff’s Office has no suspects at this time. The matter is under investigation.
