Pitcher — Erica Manske, Blooming Prairie

The four-year starter finished her BP career by leading the team to its second straight Class ‘A’ state tournament, where it took fourth. Manske went 20-2 with an ERA of 1.56, while striking out 192 in 137 2/3 innings. She allowed 100 hits and 44 walks, making it the second straight year in which she had more strikeouts than runners allowed on base. Manske hit .243 with 12 RBIs.

Shortstop — Tayla Jones, BP

The senior hit .395 with 3 homers, 6 doubles, 3 triples, 28 RBIs and 28 runs scored for the Awesome Blossoms (21-3 overall). Jones had an on-base percentage of .495.

Second base — Whitney Bamrick, Southland

Bamrick, a senior who played shortstop for the Rebels (15-9 overall), provided a solid glove while hitting .383 with 4 doubles, 33 RBIs and 19 runs.

Third base — Marie Clennon, Austin

The junior was the top hitter for the Packers (5-15 overall) as she hit .347 with 3 doubles, 9 RBIs and 6 runs.

First base — Celina Yunker, Southland

The junior hit .455 with 1 homerun, 4 doubles, 2 triples and 26 RBIs. Yunker also drew 14 walks.

Outfield — Tricia DeBoer, BP

The junior served as a standout defensive centerfielder and she was also BP’s lead-off hitter. She hit .550 with 2 doubles, 12 RBIs, and 34 runs scored. She also was 33-for-33 on stolen bases.

Outfield — Jana Schammel, Southland

While providing plenty of speed in center field, the sophomore also brought it at the plate — hitting .452 with 6 doubles, 16 RBIs and scoring 37 runs. Schammel also stole 28 bases and drew 15 walks.

Outfield — Julia Manges, BP

The junior hit .420 with 1 homer, 7 doubles, 39 RBIs, and 18 runs scored.

Catcher — Dani Wagner, Hayfield

The freshman hit .484 with 4 doubles, 3 triples, 4 homers and 21 RBI for the Vikings. In her first year as a catcher after playing shortstop her first two varsity seasons, Wagner threw out 17 runners and had 95 put-outs.

HONORABLE MENTION

Danielle Tschann, catcher, Austin

The junior had a cannon of an arm behind the plate and wasn’t too bad with a bat either. She hit .340 with 3 doubles and 3 RBIs and had an on-base percentage of .411.

Brandi Schammel, pitcher, Southland

The senior went 13-8 with a 2.70 ERA in the circle while hitting .316 with 2 doubles, 1 triple, 23 RBIs and 23 runs. She also drew 14 walks.

Hunter Henderson, BP, catcher

The junior hit .427 with 10 doubles, 1 triple and 22 RBIs.

Shelbi Swenson, BP, first base

The sophomore hit .425 with an on-base percentage of .506 while tallying 2 homeruns, 7 doubles, 1 triple, 12 RBIs, and 20 runs.

Lindsey Miller, outfield, Austin

The senior hit .250 with 1 double, 9 RBIs and 9 runs. She also led Austin by going 9-for-12 on steals.
