The Austin baseball team got off on the wrong foot in a 10-6 loss at Winona (5-5 overall, 4-4 Big Nine) Thursday.
The Packers (1-9 overall, 1-8 Big Nine) allowed six unearned runs in the first two innings and they finished with five errors on the night.
Austin pitcher Quinn Yocom allowed just two earned runs on the night, but he took the loss.
“I felt bad for Quinn, because he pitched well and was getting ground balls. We just didn’t make enough plays behind him,” Austin head coach Troy Watkins said. “You can’t start out down 6-0 and expect to win.”
