Downed helicopter reported in Lakeville

LAKEVILLE, Minn. (AP) — The Dakota County sheriff says a helicopter has gone down into Lake Marion in Lakeville, a Minneapolis suburb.

Sheriff Dave Bellows tells KSTP-TV that the lone occupant of the helicopter swam to shore and emergency crews were on the scene. WCCO-TV showed an aerial photo of the helicopter mostly submerged in the lake.

The report came into the sheriff’s office about noon Tuesday.

Bellows did not immediately return a call from The Associated Press seeking additional details.
