Brave Community Theatre of Spring Valley has announced their summer 2011 performance schedule.

This year, BCT will offer two crowd-pleasing favorites – “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” and “Nunsense.”

The first theatrical offering of BCT’s 2011 summer season is the whimsical Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, a Children’s play by Richard R. George adapted from the fantasy by Roald Dahl. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory will be presented at the Spring Valley Community Center on Friday, July 1, and Saturday, July 2 at 7 p.m. and on Sunday, July 3 at 3 p.m. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, directed by Dani Vogel, will be presented in conjunction with Freedom Fest activities.

Auditions for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory will be held on Tuesday, May 17, from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday, May 19, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Kingsland High School Choir Room. The script calls for 18-22 actors and actresses, ages 8 to 18. One adult male role is also available. Rehearsals, scheduled to begin in late May/early June, will be held on weekday mornings in Spring Valley.

Casting is complete for “Nunsense,” and it will be performed at the Spring Valley Community Center with evening performances on Wednesday Aug. 17, Thursday, Aug. 18 and Friday Aug. 19, and a matinee on Saturday, Aug. 20.
