Anne Vaughan Steiner, 82

Anne Vaughan Steiner was born June 20, 1928 in Dallas, the youngest of eight children born to John G. Vaughan, Sr. and Vera Madge (McMahon) Vaughan. On May 18, 2011, she left the frailties that Alzheimer’s placed on her and went to live with her heavenly Father.
Anne married James Steiner on July 29, 1946, and together they raised four children in Austin, Minn. and Fremont, Neb., later moving back to Minnesota and then retiring to Bella Vista, Ariz., and finally in San Antonio, Texas, area. No matter where they lived, Anne enjoyed a wide variety of interersts, including golf, gardening, cooking, sewing and bridge, and she was always the consummate hostess, entertaining their many friends with great confidence and style.
Anne is survived by her husband, James Steiner of San Antonio; daughters, Cheryl Lyren (Doug) of San Antonio, Debbie wells (Gary) of Greer, S.C., Melinda Rounds (Glen) of Garfield, Ariz.; son, Kent steiner (Kris) of Brownsdale, Minn.; eight grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Nell Westmoreland; brothers, Malcolm Vaughan and Eldon Vaughan, all in the Dallas area; and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Anne’s life will be held 11 a.m., June 3, at University United Methodist Church, 5084 DeZavala Road, San Antonio, TX.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Asociation.
