Dr. Joel Schieck said his new office is exactly as he envisioned it.

Schieck Dental, which has been in Austin for 21 years, moved to its new facility at 607 18th Ave. NW in November.

“It’s been a welcomed change,” Schieck said. “I have more space, I can serve the patients’ needs better, it’s increasing my visibility, and it’s a very patient-friendly office.”

Schieck, who is the office’s only dentist and has four other employees, said the move has allowed him to update equipment and technology, such as new dental chairs and equipment and a new computer system.

Schieck said he was pleased with the construction phase as well. He hired The Urban Studio LLC of Rochester as the architect, and most of the construction was done by Austin businesses, including general contractor The Joseph Company Inc. and Harty Mechanical Inc. for plumbing.

“Thanks to all those guys locally who did all the work,” Schieck said. “I’m very pleased with Joseph and the work that they did.”

Schieck added they tried to be as eco-friendly as possible with building materials and the heating and cooling systems.

“We accomplished all of that as best we could,” he said. “Within our budget, we did really well in accomplishing that.”
