The Southland baseball team didn’t rack up too many hits, but it played enough defense to get past Caledonia (2-2 overall, 2-2 Three Rivers) 6-3 on the road Tuesday.
The Rebels (4-0 overall, 4-0 Three Rivers) had seven hits, but their defense came to play as starting pitcher Alan May struck out just two in seven innings.
“We played pretty good defense behind Alan,” Southland head coach Scott Retterath said. “We were picking it up and throwing them out.”
Southland jumped out to a 4-0 after scoring three in the top of the second inning.
