The Austin boys golf team opened its season with a 351-377 win over Mankato East in a road dual Tuesday.

The Packers were led by freshman Isaac Christianson, who had the low score of the meet with an 83.

“I didn’t really know what to expect or how they’d play since it was our first meet,” Austin head coach Chris Gogolewski said. “It took a couple of holes to get the jitters out and after that they did well.”
