A Mower County Sheriff’s deputy was bitten by a pitbull while serving an arrest warrant Tuesday afternoon.
Deputy Bob Kvam was serving the warrant at 506 11th St. NE when a black pitbull inside the house attacked his right arm. He suffered three deep puncture wounds in his wrist and a wound in his arm. His watch was also broken in the incident.
Kvam transported the woman to jail before being seen at Austin Medical Center.
Sheriff Terese Amazi said this is the second time the dog has bitten someone. It was taken to the pound.
Amazi said the dog’s owner did not appear to purposely allow the dog to bite Kvam.
