MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — A Minneapolis mother will be sentenced next month after pleading guilty to throwing her infant daughter in a snowbank.

A criminal complaint says 21-year-old Ashley Couch was upset with the father of her 18-day-old baby, chased him down the street and threw the baby girl in the snowbank. A witness called 911, then wrapped the infant in his jacket and waited for police. The temperature that day, March 5, was 16 degrees.

The baby was treated for hypothermia at Hennepin County Medical Center and has recovered.
