Marion E. Capretz, 86

Marion E. Capretz, 86, formerly of Austin, died on Tuesday, April 19, 2011, at Zumbrota Health Services in Zumbrota.
Marion was born on Oct. 30, 1924, in Austin to Elling and Mable Olson. She graduated from Austin High School in 1942. After graduation, she worked for the Hormel Company. Marion met Loren Capretz at the “Sweet Shop”. They were married on Sept. 20, 1947. They had a beautiful marriage and together raised their three daughters. Marion enjoyed going to the cabin, traveling on many wonderful vacations, watching movies, playing cards, going out to dinner with friends and playing tennis. Her pride and joy were her three grandchildren. Marion had a tremendous sense of humor and loved a good joke. She enjoyed listening to music, especially jazz. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elling and Mable Olson and her husband, Loren Capretz.
Marion is survived by her three daughters, Sue Symonds (Jim), Gayle Capretz (Jim Geise), and Beth Capretz (Bill Dugan); three grandchildren, Samantha, Tanner and Lauren; sister, Virginia Christensen; two nieces, Kathy and Mary; nephew, Rick.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 25, at Our Saviors Lutheran Church with the Reverend Glenn Monson officiating. Visitation will be at the church for one hour before the service. Memorials are preferred to Our Saviors Lutheran Church, 1600 Oakland Avenue West, Austin, MN 55912 or Lutheran Social Services of MN, 2485 Como Avenue, St. Paul, MN 55108. Clasen-Jordan Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
