Historical society to teach genealogy

The Mower County Historical Society will be offering its first ever Genealogy Detectives Seminar on Friday, April 29 from 5:30 to 11 p.m.

The workshop will take place in the Administration Building of the MCHS site. Participants will receive information on getting their genealogy work organized and spend most of the time as a genealogy detective in search of family history. Each participant will receive one-on-one assistance from a trained researcher and will get a packet of helpful tips, census charts and genealogy resources.

Preregistration is required and space is limited to the first eight paid registrants. The cost is $30 for members of the historical society and $40 for non-members. Registration and payment are due Monday, April 25.
