“This is very important to us that our employees have a safe environment to work in, and that we remain committed to seeing that safety has a high priority in our daily operation,” said Thomas Newell, president of Minnesota Freezer Warehouse Company.

Applicants are judged on several years of injury data as it compares with state and national statistics, and on their progress in implementing a comprehensive safety program. Winners are recognized at three levels, and Minnesota Freezer Warehouse Company received an Award of Honor, the highest of the three, and was one of 42 Minnesota businesses to receive the honor.

Since 1934, the annual Governor’s Safety Awards program has honored Minnesota employers with exceptional safety performance.
