Mower County Sheriff’s deputies were also called to the Lansing Cemetery at 54247 270th St. Wednesday evening to check on a damaged headstone.

Amazi said deputies found one headstone turned over on its side and damaged near the driveway to the cemetery. A smudge of red paint was found on the lower corner of the headstone.

Deputies were unable to determine if the damage was caused by a lawn mower or a vehicle.
