BLOOMINGTON, Minn. (AP) — A 14-year-old boy is rescued from the bottom of a hotel pool in Bloomington.

And, as luck would have it, his rescuer was a nurse who resuscitated him. Police say the boy was playing on the side of the pool at the Sheraton Bloomington hotel Thursday, slipped and fell in. Cmdr. Mark Stehlik says others tried to rescue the boy, but were unsuccessful. That’s when the nurse jumped in.

Police say the boy wasn’t breathing when he was taken out of the water. The nurse performed CPR until he was breathing on his own.
