The Riverland baseball team has now won nine of its last 10 games after winning all four of its games this weekend.

The Blue Devils (14-9 overall) swept Vermilion by scores of 6-3 and 10-0 Sunday and they beat Hibbing 5-0 and 10-0 Saturday.

Glenville/Emmons grad John Mittag picked up the win in relief in the first game against Vermilion as he didn’t allow a hit or a run in just over four innings of work.

“John came in and did a great job,” RCC head coach Scott Koenigs said.

In Sunday’s second game, it was pitcher Michael Osmundson, a freshman from Mapleton, Minn., who got the job done. Osmundson struck out 11 in five innings without allowing a run.
