Austin Utilities wants its customers to know they already receive water service line insurance coverage.

Austin residents may receive literature from companies soliciting for water service line coverage, but all AU costumers are covered under the Austin Utilities Water Service Fund.

AU customers pay a $3-per-month charge toward a water service fund. This fund covers the cost of repair of leaks or ruptures to water lines from the street or sidewalk to the home. A break in a water service line can result in expensive repair bills that are not typically covered under most basic homeowners’ insurance polices, but all AU water customers are covered.
