MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Minnesota Vikings cornerback Chris Cook was arrested after an arguing with a neighbor in Lynchburg, Va., but Cook denies a report that he pulled out a gun during the dispute.
Cook tells the Star Tribune that the confrontation with a neighbor Saturday did not escalate to a physical fight. Cook says he was riding his bike near his home when the neighbor began yelling at him. He says the neighbor wrongly believed Cook had called police about the neighbor’s brother.
Cook said he had recently received a license to carry a concealed weapon, but denied pulling a gun on the man as WSET-TV reported. He says was taken to the police station, but did not spend any time in jail.
The team is not allowed to have contact with Cook because of the NFL lockout.
