I would like to say a special thank you to all who helped make the Disable American Veterans Auxiliary Unit 27 Christmas card program such a success. More than 600 cards, made by kindergartners through fifth-graders at Brownsdale, Pacelli, Southland and Woodson schools, were sent overseas and/or to VA Hospitals and veterans homes in Minnesota.
A special thank you also goes to Chaplin Hargas, who sent back a DVD from Camp Spann in Iraq to the students, which showed them how much their thoughts were appreciated. Thanks to all the teachers and students who helped make our service men and women have a better holiday and to Accentra Credit Union for its generous contribution, so candy and Chapstick could be included.
I wish everyone could have seen the cards. It was amazing what was done. Thank you again — everyone involved. I am proud to have been part of it.

Americanism Chairman
