Three men who were arrested last November for kicking in the door of a party they had attended and threatening guests were sentenced in Mower County Court Thursday.
Domach Chan Chuol, 25, of Moundsview, Tung Chan Chuol, 21, of St. Cloud, and Ruot Kun Chuol, 21, of Faribault, were all given probation on convictions of second-degree burglary. Domach Chuol and Tung Chuol received 10 years of probation, and Ruot Chuol received five years.
The three men were arrested along with Dak Chuol Ngut, 21, of Mankato, in the 1300 block of First Place Southeast in Austin last November.
Police Chief Brian Krueger previously said the men had become unruly at a party and had been asked to leave.
However, once they were outside of the residence and the door was locked, they kicked in the door and allegedly began physically assaulting a 21-year-old female who was inside.
Although none of the men were convicted on the assault charge, Krueger said witnesses told police that a knife was displayed and held in a threatening manner towards other party-goers, but it was apparently not used during the altercation.
Ruot Chuol was the only one of the four who was apprehended by K9 Ghost. He had been hiding in a backyard when police arrived.
Ruot Chuol was transported to Austin Medical Center and treated for K9 apprehension on his right forearm.
According to court documents, Domach Chuol hid from police in the basement of the residence and was arrested at gunpoint. A woman at the house identified him as the person who had broken a window at the residence.
Police spoke with party-goers after the incident and found that one man had bite marks on his chest. The man said one of the four men had bitten him.
Ngut was previously sentenced to five years of probation in the case.
