Police arrested a Lyle man and a New Mexico woman who refused to leave the Holiday Inn after causing a disturbance in the pool area around 2 a.m. Sunday morning.
Holiday Inn staff had asked Todd Harrison, 45, and Stephanie Bartholomew, 59, to check out of their rooms and leave the hotel, and the two were apparently not cooperating. Police arrived and advised Harrison he needed to move out of the hotel or be arrested.
According to a police report, Harrison indicated he was going to fight with the officer. The officer sprayed Harrison with Freeze Plus P tear gas, which had no affect. Police were able to handcuff him after he was given a dry stun with a taser.
Bartholomew was apparently told several times to keep her hands away from the officer’s face and did not comply. She then shoved one of the officers and was arrested.
Police Chief Brian Krueger said Harrison is being held in the Mower County jail awaiting charges. Bartholomew posted bail of $585 and is also awaiting charges.
