Man pleads not guilty to meth charges

An Austin man pleaded not guilty on Monday to felony drug charges after police found 8.5 grams of methamphetamine in his home.
Juan Vasquez, 34, faces charges of second-degree sale of 3 grams or more of meth and second-degree possession of over 6 grams of meth.
Vasquez was arrested Feb. 28 when Austin police served a search warrant at his home in the 200 block of East Oakland Avenue.
According to a court complaint, police recovered a glass meth pipe, 8.5 grams of meth, several plastic bags containing meth residue and a digital scale during the search.
Vasquez’s jury trial is scheduled for May 2.
