MINNEAPOLIS  — A driver accused of running a vehicle off the road in Minneapolis and attacking it with a hatchet has been released from jail.

The 36-year-old New Brighton man was arrested Monday on suspicion of assault with a dangerous weapon. He spent two days in the Hennepin County jail before he was released pending criminal charges.

Police say the man rammed another vehicle in a south Minneapolis neighborhood, then got out and pounded it with a hatchet.
