The funeral service for Juan Niño Villarreal of Albert Lea will be at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday at St. Theodore Catholic Church, Albert Lea.
The Rev. James Berning and Deacon Mike Ellis will officiate. Interment will be in St. Theodore Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m.on Monday at Bonnerup Funeral Service, Albert Lea and one hour before the service at the church.
Juan died Friday, March 11, 2011, at St. John’s Lutheran Home, Albert Lea. He was 75 years old.
Juan was born Dec. 29, 1935, in Lytle, Texas, to Francisco P. and Nicolasa (Niño) Villarreal. He lived in Texas until 1953. He married Jovita Lumbreras on July 15, 1957, and they lived at Maple Island, until 2002 when they moved to Albert Lea. Juan worked for the Phillip 66 Gas Station in Hollandale. He drove truck and worked for 46 years as foreman for the Hollandale Marketing Association. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Geneva and then St. Theodore Catholic Church in Albert Lea. Juan enjoyed playing cards, hunting and spending time with family and friends. He especially liked his wife’s good cooking. Juan enjoyed animals, especially his dogs and cats. He also enjoyed Sundays when his family would always gather.
Juan is survived by his wife, Jovita Villarreal, of Albert Lea; five children: daughter, Yolanda (Aristeo) Martinez of Albert Lea; daughter, Carmen (Doug) DeBoer of Albert Lea; son, David A. (Kristina) Villarreal of Albert Lea; daughter, Jane (Terry) Christenson of Owatonna; and son Juan Jr. (Amy) Villarreal of Owatonna; grandchildren: Junior (Melanie) Martinez, Miki Martinez, Sandra DeBoer, Ramon DeBoer, Margarito DeBoer, David L. (Krystal) Villarreal, Jacob Villarreal, Dominique Villarreal, Dalton Hanson, Jordon Rasmussen, Samantha Fransen and Tony Villarreal; great-grandchildren: Alexis Martinez and Treyton Villarreal.
Juan was preceded in death by his parents Francisco and Nicolasa Villarreal; sisters, Eva Fernnadez and Carolina Villarreal; brother, Conrad Villarreal; aunt, Maria Niño; and cousin, Henry Niño.
