MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — A Florida homicide suspect has been arrested in Minnesota.
The FBI says 46-year-old Abraham Mbaka was arrested without incident Saturday in a library in the St. Paul suburb of Hastings.
Mbaka allegedly killed his girlfriend, Coty Paul, in North Miami Beach Dec. 26, 2008. The FBI says he allegedly stabbed Paul, the mother of two children, in her heart as she was watching TV in a neighbor’s apartment.
The FBI said in its announcement Saturday night that Mpaka had been featured on the TV show “America’s Most Wanted” three times before his arrest.
In its web site, the show says a woman who read a story there about Mpaka thought he resembled her friend’s boyfriend and called the show’s tipline, which put authorities on his trail.
Mpaka is awaiting extradition.
