Bruins win last home game

The Austin Bruins closed out their home schedule with a commanding 3-1 win over Aberdeen in Riverside Arena Saturday and Austin lost at Coulee Region 5-1 on Sunday.
In the home win, the Bruins jumped out to a 3-0 lead as Mike Adamowicz and Cody Hotchkin put in first period scores and Chris Fischer scored in the second.
Keegan Asmundson stopped 35 of the 36 shots he saw in the win.
There were 1,361 people in attendance for the last game at Riverside this season.
In the 5-1 loss to Coulee (33-17-5 overall), the Bruins (22-30-3 overall) came up short on all eight of their powerplay attempts, while the Chill scored two shorthanded goals.
Austin’s Sam Olson tied the game at one in the first with a goal, but Coulee Region scored four times in the second period.
AJ Underwood had 27 saves for Austin, while Coulee Region’s Aaron Davis stopped 47 of the 48 shots he saw.
Austin, which can’t qualify for the playoffs, will close out the season in Aberdeen and Coulee Region this coming weekend.
