Blooming Prairie lost to No. 4 seeded Janesville/Waldorf/Pemberton (12-12 overall) 53-48 in the first round of the Section 1A West Division boys basketball tournament in Janesville Thursday.

Sophomore Michael Thomas led BP (6-18 overall) with 19 points and 10 rebounds.

BP trailed by as many as 14 in the second half before using an 18-4 run to tie the game at 43 with five minutes left.

J/W/P hit five of its last six free throws to seal the win.
