The funeral service for Ellsworth “Elsie” G. Nelson, of Albert Lea, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Bonnerup Funeral Service, 2210 E. Main St., Albert Lea. The Rev. Robert Berthold will officiate. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Bonnerup Funeral Service, Albert Lea and one hour before the service.

Ellsworth died on Friday, March 11, 2011, at his home. He was 79.

Ellsworth was born on Oct. 28, 1931, in Freeborn County, the son of James and Eleanora “Kjos” Nelson. He graduated from Albert Lea High School. He married Donna Tovar in December 1958. Elsie worked at King Sealy/Queens for many years before retiring. Elsie enjoyed NASCAR Racing, long drives and tinkering on vehicles.

He is survived by daughter, Belinda Peterson, of Albert Lea, and her children: Cory Peterson of Albert Lea and Danielle Peterson and fiancé “Shorty”and their child, Abigail Dolph; four step-children: Janice Becker of Morgan Hill, Calif., Steve Tovar of Albert Lea, and his child, Amber (Richard) Yost, of Albert Lea and their children: Ashlyn, Madelyn and Layton; Rod (Linda) Tovar of Albert Lea and their children: Sarah Tovar (Al Benson) of Shakopee and their child, Carter; Holly Tovar and her child, Logan, of Albert Lea; Mark Tovar of Atlanta, Ga.; sisters: Elaine Ramos of Albert Lea and her fiancée, Gary Sanden, of Albert Lea; Shirley (Gerald) Bradley of San Jose, Calif.; sister-in-law, Jean Nelson, of Minneapolis; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Gerald, and two nieces: Candace and Trish.
