Ridgewater tops RCC men

The Riverland men’s basketball team ran out of offense in a 71-55 loss to Ridgewater (11-13 overall, 2-10 MCAC South) in Riverland Gym Wednesday.

The Blue Devils (12-14 overall, 3-8 MCAC South) led 29-25 after DeAaron Hearn hit a lay-up and a jump shot late in the first half, but Ridgewater tied things up right before the break when Tyler Pendleton hit a fade-away jumper at the buzzer.

Ridgewater led by as many as 10 early in the second half and RCC pulled to within 54-49 when Jordan Jarland hit a three with 7:58 left in the game.

Ridgewater answered with a 10-1 run to put it out of reach.
