Richard Fredrick Cassem, 85, of Austin, died Sunday, Feb. 20 in Rochester after a battle with cancer.

Richard Cassem was born Dec. 3, 1925 to Elmer and Blanch Cassem in Ellendale. He graduated from Ellendale High School in 1943 and later married Betty J. Evenson on June 26, 1950. He was an employee of Austin Utilities, The Tower, a member of St. Olaf Church, an avid golfer and traveler.

Richard is survived by his wife, Betty; sons, Mark and Bruce; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his Parents; and brother, Robert Cassem.

Visitation and funeral services will be held at a later date, along with Interment at Fort Snelling Cemetery. Minnesota Cremation Society is in charge of arrangements.
