ST. PAUL, Minn. — Students from the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system are holding a rally and march in front of the Capitol to say “Student Tuition is Over Priced,” or S.T.O.P.
They will ask the Legislature to stop further tuition increases and maintain quality education in the system.
The students will march from Saint Paul College to the Capitol at 11 a.m. Wednesday, followed by a rally on the steps that will include students, legislators and higher education leaders.
In his budget plan released Tuesday, Gov. Mark Dayton included $171 million in cuts to higher education, including 6 percent less than what MnSCU and the University of Minnesota were expected to receive.
