The Austin boys basketball team went cold in a 57-44 loss at Red Wing Saturday.

The Packers (3-5 overall) shot just 28 percent from the field and they missed 25 threes in the loss.

“We just had an awful shooting night and it wasn’t due to lack of effort,” Austin head coach Kris Fadness. “I was pleased with how hard we played.”

Austin led 16-9 early, but found itself trailing 28-25 at the break.

The Wingers (7-4 overall) were led by their 6-8 post player Isaac Sevile, who finished with 18 points, eight rebounds and five blocks and Joel Newman added 18 points.

“(Sevile) dominated the games at times, it got very physical and that wasn’t conducive for us,” Fadness said.
