Tonight will be a good night to read a book, rent a movie, watch SportsCenter — anything to keep from going outside.
Thursday night is expected to boast some of the coldest temperatures of the winter. The high of 8 is expected to drop to around -16 with wind chill values nearing -30.
So bundle up.
A wind chill advisory is in effect from 6 p.m. tonight until 9 a.m. Friday.
The cold isn’t all people will have to worry about Friday. Light snow could fall, but little accumulation is expected. The real factor will be the blustery winds increasing to 20 to 23 mph with 32 mph gusts, causing drifting and limited visibility in some areas.
As of this morning a winter weather advisory has not been issued, but advisories were in effect in south central Minnesota. Look to austindailyherald.com for information throughout the day.
