The Hayfield girls basketball team didn’t have its offense going, but its defense did the job in a 42-27 win at Cannon Falls (3-10 overall) Tuesday.

The Vikings (10-4 overall) forced 28 turnovers, which gave them plenty of breakaway opportunities.

“We weren’t very good in the half-court offense, but we used our speed and athleticism to create some full court problems for them,” Hayfield head coach Fred Kindschy said.
