Shirley Marie Bischoff, 83, of Austin, died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2011, at the Austin Medical Center.

Shirley was born March 31, 1927, in Austin to Norman and Helen (Wheeler) Ofstedahl.
On May 30, 1946, she was united in marriage to Ernest J. Bischoff. He preceded her in death on May 4, 1985. Shirley was a member of the Eagle’s Auxiliary and the VFW Auxiliary. She loved cooking, entertaining her friends, playing cards and going to the casino. Shirley also loved her granddogs: Snickers, Sadie, Rocky and Rudy.
She is survived by her two daughters, Linda (Douglas) Robinson, Lake City and Brenda O’Connor, Rochester; sister, Norma Jean “Butch” (Sam) Farrand, Austin.
In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents, brother-in-law, and son-in-law.
A visitation will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday at Mayer Funeral Home. There will be an Eagle’s Auxiliary Ritual at 5 p.m. Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery.
