Packer girls rally past Northfield

Austin sophomore Jenna Svoboda scored with 16 seconds left to give the Austin girls basketball team a 59-58 win at Northfield (5-10 overall) Saturday.
The Packers (6-9 overall) had trailed by 10 with 7:25 left but they used their full court press to get back in the game.
“There was not quit and we got through it,” Austin head coach Gary Peterson said. “I wasn’t sure how we’d respond after losing big to Owatonna less than 24 hours before the game, but it was one of the more exciting games in awhile.”
Babaye Oja had 27 points, 11 rebounds and five steals to lead the Packers, who trailed by as many as 16 early in the game.
Austin forced 31 turnovers.
