Minn. Congress members compete for best hot dish

ST. PAUL — Several members of Minnesota’s congressional delegate will put up their best comfort food in a friendly hot dish contest on Wednesday.

Democratic Sen. Amy Klobuchar’s office says the contest involves Republican Rep. Michele Bachmann, Klobuchar and four other Democrats, including Sen. Al Franken and Rep. Keith Ellison.

Klobuchar is on the ballot next year. So far no Republican opponent has declared a challenge.

The contest happens a day after Republicans and Democrats mixed up the seating for President Obama’s State of the Union speech.

The hot dish judges include a Republican and a Democrat. Former Reps. Vin Weber, a Republican, and Gerry Sikorski, a Democrat, will render culinary opinions.
