The Hayfield girls basketball team fell behind early in a 65-54 loss to Byron (10-5 overall) in Hayfield Tuesday.

The Vikings (10-6 overall) trailed 20-4 to open the game and although they did come back to take a two-point lead with 5:49 left in the game, it just wasn’t enough.

“Both teams hit big shots, but you can’t get that much early and expect to win,” Hayfield head coach Fred Kindschy said.
