A 24-year-old Austin man is in custody after allegedly choking a woman Saturday morning just after midnight.
Kyle David Miller will likely be charged with felony domestic assault and felony domestic assault by strangulation.
The woman told police she and Miller had seen each other out at local bars earlier in the night and he came to her house intoxicated later. Because of the woman’s past with Miller, she was afraid he would kick in the door, so she let him come inside.
Officers said the woman was distraught when they arrived at the scene, with fresh red marks on her neck and face. The woman said Miller had choked her.
Details of the incident are not available at this time. The case has been forwarded to the county attorney for appropriate charges. Miller will likely appear in court in the next week.
